Hey! WWE Starrcade is tonight! Did… did you know that? It’s true! There’s honest-to-God gonna be a show of that name on the WWE Network tonight! And it’s got a whole PPV card and everything! Looks like a lot of fun! But unfortunately we’re only set to get a fraction of it… yeah, of the seven matches taking place, we’re only seeing two of them. An hour’s worth of a three hour event.
Generally speaking, they have to have old WCW legends on these shows as a meager means of justifying the use of the name. (This in addition to them being events held in the south.) Most notably, at the first iteration of this ‘revival’ back in 2017, Arn Anderson delivered his famed spinebuster to Dolph Ziggler.
This year, Arn’s former leader in the Four Horsemen Ric Flair will be joining proceedings as a special guest on the Kevin Owens Show.
The KO Show is one of the least-used talk shows in recent memory, but Kevin Owens is bringing it back for a very special occasion here, interviewing Ric Flair. It goes without saying that Flair headlined a ton of Starrcade events back when it was actually an event of importance. So I’m sure he’ll have plenty of reminiscing to do.
Of course a segment like this usually exists so some heel can ruin things. Given that Owens will be here, it’d be fitting if his rival and newly turned heel Seth Rollins interrupted them. King Corbin is also usually a safe bet for things like this and he will be in the building. Of course there’s always the chance that the Fiend will claim another big name legend and take out a current top star in Kevin Owens in the process. It really should be someone from Raw so Kevin can atleast setup a TV match out of it if nothing else.
