Hey! WWE Starrcade is tonight! Did… did you know that? It’s true! There’s honest-to-God gonna be a show of that name on the WWE Network tonight! And it’s got a whole PPV card and everything! Looks like a lot of fun! But unfortunately we’re only set to get a fraction of it… yeah, of the seven matches taking place, we’re only seeing two of them. An hour’s worth of a three hour event.
But I did enough belly-aching about that in the first article, so let’s just dive into the preview of the other match that we have to look forward to tonight…
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal Four Way: Kabuki Warriors (Asuka & Kairi Sane) (c) vs. Becky Lynch & Charlotte Flair vs. Bayley & Sasha Banks vs. Alexa Bliss & Nikki Cross
That was something of a mouthful, eh?
How good this match will be shall be determined on two factors. One is whether or not they’ll allow it to have actual fatal four way rules, rather than the always prohibitive and never particularly logical four corners rules. WWE does like to go for those in times like this unfortunately. The other factor is whether or not they’re willing to give this match ample time, as something like this really needs a good deal of space to both tell a story and actually let all eight competitors shine.
This is not only a title match but one that effectively involves the top half of the entire main roster women’s division. Considering that, there’s really no reason it wouldn’t be the main event – atleast, the main event of the hour that we’re getting. So that being the case, it’s not crazy to think it should get around 20 minutes bell-to-bell…
As for who wins, well, I can’t for the life of me expect anything of significance to happen on this show. Whether or not a main roster tag title change actually qualifies as ‘significant’ is up for debate, but I think it’s reasonable to say Kabuki Warriors retain.
