CBS The Bold and the Beautiful spoilers indicate that it looks like another week of preempted shows so the circus in DC can continue. Never mind the Impeachment is bringing in half the ratings the shows are, or that most relay on these shows for escapism from the same reality we’re inundated with a thousand times a day. Nope, like other shows, The Bold and the Beautiful preemption blues are among here to stay for a while.
That doesn’t mean there aren’t options available. CBS is proud to direct us to CBS.com to watch our shows complete with commercial interruption.
Oh, wait… There’s no Bold and the Beautiful available sine January 20, 2020. I wonder why…
CBS The Bold and the Beautiful Spoilers: Preemption Blues – What You Need To Know About B&B!
This phrase used to drive me insane as a kid, mainly because it was always during one of my favorite shows. Sometimes it was the antenna being wonky, but mostly it was the television station having some problem that had to pick right then to pop up.
On the plus side, at least the shows are polite enough to send out their stars to explain things to us.
In this case, Steffy Forrester (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood) was kind enough to try and reassure us that The Bold and the Beautiful will be back. At some point.

“Hi, B&B fans!” she told us from the Forrester office set. It was posted to social media on January 24, 2020. “We want to thank you for your loyalty and tuning in each and every weekday. THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL has been preempted today, but what we have coming up for you is worth the wait!”
Okay. That’s good to know, and it’s something another show, General Hospital, did as well, except they had three of their actors do the spiel.
We can’t blame them since this isn’t their fault. This is something that’s beyond their control and the orders come from higher up the totem pole.
But with that in mind…
B&B Spoilers: So What’s Really Going On?
That’s not what I meant. What I meant to say is it’s so pretentious and arrogant of the show runners and the network to not only preempt the series, but to NOT put it on CBS.com for the fans.
Seriously, we’re in 2020 and these shows should be on the website daily no matter what. It makes sense to do that. Especially when the airwaves are commandeered by something that can be covered on nightly news broadcasts, 24 hour news networks, or PBS (for those that don’t have cable or go to the library to watch online).
It’s beyond imaginable how badly mismanaged this is.
Sure, it’s easy to think the show’s being treated like this because of low ratings, but last I checked they were second behind fellow CBS show, The Young and the Restless. So ratings can’t be the problem.
The showrunner, if they’re serious about keeping the show in the public consciousness, should be in the network’s ear ten times a day about airing the shows online or a different time slot.
The fans are the backbone, not the story
This is a popular misconception told to us by those making excuses.
The stories pull us in, true. But we as fans, whether we buy the books, dvds, subscription to streaming services like CBS All Access, or just tuning in every day to watch and subsequently be the target of their adds are what keep the shows alive. Without us, there would be no Bold and the Beautiful or other shows, and this is something the show runners and network heads need to remember.
Tuning into the OJ Simpson trial killed many shows in the 1990s, and this could very well do the same if they don’t start streaming them.
With The Bold and the Beautiful preemption blues, there are other shows streaming that’ll be happy to have us added to their viewers. It’s just a matter of time.
