CBS The Young and the Restless Spoilers (Y&R) have kept things interesting the last couple of days as the temperature has risen between Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Summer Newman (Hunter King). Not only is their every action hot and fraught with anticipation, but Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) overheard them talking about their what-once-was secret kiss.
This is why on would expect people to make sure their doors are locked, their phones are turned off, or they’re in the privacy of their home or car before chatting away. But then, it’s probably safe to assume having someone sneaking around to listen to their business isn’t high on their checklists. Makes sense to a point, but when working with someone like Theo who is trying to goad Kyle into anything he can?

It’s a blessing that these characters aren’t as smart as we’re supposed to believe. Otherwise, The Young and the Restless Spoilers would be boring and we’d be watching a game show or something, right?
Bad advice and the follow through
And to think, this all started with Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) offering her daughter advice to “never be second best.” This came shortly after she told Summer she could have Kyle back with a snap of her fingers (so to speak) before Kyle and Summer left to close a deal with another cosmetic company.
As predicted, given their excellent work at prepping their future buy out, they closed the deal with little hassle, adding it to Jabot Cosmetics.
While celebrating in Kyle’s hotel room, the two shared a brief kiss that nearly grew into something more before Kyle came to his senses.
Summer left his room heartbroken and unsure of what the following days would bring.
As if there’s any reason to be concerned where The Young and the Restless Spoilers are concerned, right?
If they only closed the door
Fast forward to their arrival home, where Kyle’s intent to sort his marriage out with his wife, Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle). Failed when she received a phone call that her mother was in a car accident.
With everything taken care of there for the moment, Kyle told her their talk could wait (this is where we facepalm as an audience) and for her to try to lose herself in her work until they hear something.
She agreed and returned to work, as he does.
Eventually, Summer cornered him and asked if his idea of being honest with Lola is telling her they kissed. He admitted he didn’t know, then began to explain they couldn’t tell anyone and the kiss was better left forgotten.
As luck would have it, Theo found his way to Jack Abbot’s (Peter Bergman) office door, and listened in as he plotted to use the information to his benefit at some point in the near future. Maybe even make a play on Lola, since he recently offered her a kind shoulder and told her she’s his only friend. At least, the look on his face at the end hinted at that very thing.
This is why we close and lock our doors, but then where would all the juicy gossip come from?
Can’t wait to see what’s next for our intrepid trio.
