The manager is becoming a lost art in WWE. The only long lasting examples in recent memory have been Paul Heyman with Brock Lesnar, Sami Zayn with Shinsuke Nakamura, and Zelina Vega with Andrade. There was also Paul Ellering who managed Authors of Pain in NXT, but he was abandoned upon their arrival on the main roster. There could be a new name added to either of those lists, as Robert Stone made his presence known last night.
Chelsea Green Attacks Mia Yim
Following a fun but short match with Kayden Carter, Mia Yim was blindsided by Chelsea Green. Green has been sparsely used on WWE programming since signing with the company, having appeared on Monday Night RAW in a squash match where she would lose the Charlotte Flair, and two episodes of Main Event where she lost to Natalya and Sarah Logan. These have been her only on-screen showings since joining WWE, but it seems like things will turn around for the graduate of Lance Storms wrestling academy. Having a manager in her corner could be exactly what she needs to get started in NXT, and she will have a huge chance to make her name next week when she enters a 10 woman battle royale for a shot at Rhea Ripley & the NXT Womens Championship.
Who Is Robert Stone?
Formerly known as Robbie E in Impact Wrestling, Stone is a 19 year pro in wrestling, but has shifted his focus to being a manager as his career begins to wind down. A very capable worker in his prime, he was a former Impact Tag Team, Television & X-Division Champion, having beaten the likes of Eric Young, Jay Lethal Rob Van Dam, Gunner & James Storm. He was mainly known for being in a tag team with Jesse Godderez as The Bro-Mans.
Since winding down as a wrestler and signing with WWE, he has worked as a manager on live events for NXT. It seems he has now found his perfect client in Chelsea Green, and we will see if Robert Stone Brand will have anyone else joining in the near future. There is a ton of talent in the WWE Performance Center who could use a veteran like Stone in their corner, someone like Austin Theory comes to mind right away. He has also worked with The Outliers, the team of Riddick Moss & Dorian Mak.
