Harlem Heat to return to a WWE ring is one of the many rumors floating around the internet lately.
It started with a simple tease by The Revival on TLC’s (Tables, Ladders, and Chairs) kickoff show. The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder), being the Revival and seemingly constantly looking for a fight one way or another, approached Booker T during the TLC kickoff show and demanded he hand his Hall of Fame rings over to them.
Though calmer heads prevailed and the Revival went on to lose to the New Day later in the evening. Of course, things didn’t stop there as Wilder and Dawson continued their taunts through Twitter, and Wilder performed a Spinaroonie during a tag match at a live show.

As talented as Dash Wilder is, Booker T doesn’t have to worry about his status as the best Spinaroonie performer around.
Booker T accepts challenge
Getting back to the topic at hand, Booker T seemed to like the idea of the two teams face off, as he said on is podcast, Hall of Fame with Booker T & Brad Gilmore (special thanks to comicbook.com for the transcription :
“A fight is one thing, a match is something totally different. I think these guys look at me and my brother like we’re two jabronies that ain’t ready to fight. These guys talking about a match. Me and my brother ain’t off to wrestling nobody right now. But if they talking about a fight? I’m down. I ain’t got time to putting on my trunks and boots and trying to dress up like one of these guys on the roster. I’m a businessman. These guys (are) trying to make a name for themselves, and they trying to do that at the expense of Booker T and Stevie Ray. I ain’t no chump and I ain’t backing out of no fight anytime soon.
“Dawson, Wilder. You want us? You might want to rethink that because you could be about to ruin your careers. I would question myself if I was you two, as far as wanting to wake up a sleeping giant. Think about it.”
The Revival won’t know what hit them
I have nothing but respect for Dawson and Wilder as the Revival are one of my favorite tag teams, but Harlem Heat (Booker T and Stevie Ray) is so much more awesome (sorry guys). I loved them in WCW where they dominated the tag team division by winning the tag championship ten times, and feel it was a HUGE missed opportunity not to make a run in the WWE.
Still, it looks like this oversight may be corrected for the Royal Rumble or the next Saudi Arabia event, according to PWInsider Mike Johnson (special thanks to wrestletalk.com for Mike Johnson’s comment:
“I would think that is the direction. It makes logical sense to use that as an undercard thing or a kickoff match. It makes sense because Booker T is a local celebrity.”
Adding more fuel to this fire is the fact the WWE filed a trademark on Harlem Heat shortly after the initial altercation happened.
If this does happen, it will be their first match together in a WWE ring, and Stevie Ray’s WWE in-ring debut. It may be a little late, but hopefully we get to see this happen.
