The Revival have made it no secret that they aren’t exactly happy with their current position within WWE. They have made numerous references to leaving the company for a while now, and as their contracts are winding down, we will have a better idea of just what their future holds soon. Right now, we know that they filed some trademarks to lock down their brand, which will be very handy if they are indeed getting ready to leave WWE.
The Revival Has Filed For “FTRKO” & “Shatter Machine”
The two new trademarks which will join their existing trademark of “#FTR” are FTRKO & Shatter Machine. FTRKO was the name of their short lived faction with Randy Orton, and Shatter Machine is of course their tag team finisher, a flapjack into a double knee facebuster. While it is obvious why they would want to grab Shatter Machine, it’s very clear that Randy Orton is not leaving WWE so grabbing “FTRKO” has fans scratching their heads in confusion.
They have also made no attempt to try and trademark ‘The Revival’ or their ring names of Scott Dawson & Dash Wilder. We could see them compete under their birth names and use a team like like “The Top Guys” if they were to enter AEW’s tag team division. Everyone is wanting to see them face The Young Bucks, and until that happens the best we have is The Brain Busters vs. The Rockers.
Should They Leave WWE?
A change of scenery is often needed after a career runs stagnant, and while WWE reportedly offered The Revival higher money & less dates in a new contract, their passion for wrestling and wanting creative control of their characters might be the deciding factor. They are a fantastic tag team, and their throwback style would make them unique in just about any tag team division, but especially in AEW. They have a lot of really fast paced and exciting teams, so a team like The Revival could add some extra variety to their ranks.
If their contracts expire without them signing anything new, you can expect a bidding war to break out over them. They have raised their stock considerably with their references to leaving the company, so even if they stay in WWE, they played the game perfectly.
