Ladies and gentlemen, the 2020 WWE Royal Rumble is coming to us very, very soon! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to finish off my previews, even now as the recaps of the Kickoff matches have been posted! Tonight, we got the 2020 Women’s Royal Rumble match to look forward to! I’ve already done a pretty deep dive into what’s likely to go down here so let’s take a quick look here! Below, you’ll see the ten favorites that have gotten the deep dive treatment!
Alexa Bliss – Alexa was the top heel of the women’s division for her first few years on the main roster, only to fall off a fair bit in 2019. Winning the Rumble would serve as a real return to form for Alexa.
Asuka – Last year, Becky Lynch lost against Asuka only to invade the Rumble match and win the whole thing. Why can’t the inverse occur as well?
Charlotte Flair – Charlotte is of course a huge name in women’s wrestling. As long as she sticks around long enough, she’ll win a Royal Rumble match eventually, that much seems a given. But is this the year?
Kairi Sane – Now, let’s say Asuka wins the title here tonight and beats Becky two years running… wouldn’t it be fun if her partner Kairi Sane then went on to win the Rumble match itself? Kabuki vs. Kabuki at WrestleMania! Just sayin’~
Naomi – Everyone pretty much expects Naomi to make her return here tonight, after a half-year absence. What better time to make a big splash, right?
Nikki Cross – She’s a mad little woman, just crazy enough to win the whole thing, right?! Eh, probably not, but it sure would start a fun chain reaction. Alexa probably wouldn’t take it too well if her friend won this thing instead of her. Perhaps even lead us all the way to an Alexa Bliss vs. Nikki Cross vs. Sasha Banks vs. Bayley fatal four way for the SmackDown Women’s Championship.
Ronda Rousey – I mean… if she’s in, she wins. We all know that much.
Sasha Banks – Like Charlotte, as long as there exists a Women’s Royal Rumble match, Sasha will definitely win one of them. Could this be the impetus, to finally put Banks and Bayley against one another on the big stage?!
Shayna Baszler – In lieu of Ronda herself appearing, you can always have the leader of the Ronda Rousey’s Friends stable go after Becky instead!
Toni Storm – A true wildcard pick if ever there was one. Toni is the true anti-establishment option that Becky wishes she could be! Might that push her all the way to the victory?
My pick for the winner: Shayna Baszler
