At WWE TLC near the end of 2019, the women took the spotlight as Kairi Sane & Asuka defended their Womens Tag Team titles in a TLC match against Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch. The match would receive mixed reviews. This was because one member of the match had suffered a concussion early in the match which lead to that overshadowing the action that occurred.
Charlotte Flair would dump Kairi Sane on her head early in the matchup, and you could see the far off look in Kairi’s eyes following, as well as a drop in ability. You can debate until the end of days on how the situation should have been handled, but at the end of the day you can’t change the past. The important part is that Kairi Sane seems to be healing up fine from this whole ordeal.
“See You Soon”
Kairi Sane made a simple post to social media on January 8th, saying “See You Soon” along with a picture of herself. This bodes well for her health and well-being. It also bodes well for The Kabuki Warriors reign as tag team champions, as if Kairi was out for longer they would be forced to vacate their championships. Her partner Asuka has been making waves again in the singles division while Kairi was out, meaning their partnership could face from friction soon. Asuka is set to face Becky Lynch at the Royal Rumble for the RAW Womens Championship, looking to become Asuka Two-Belts.
The Future Of Asuka & Kairi Sane
It would be a shame to see Kabuki Warriors broken up just as they start to gain momentum as a tag team, but people have been clamouring for another dominant Asuka solo run. Kairi could always rejoin her old ally Io Shirai to reform the Sky Pirates. We will also likely see Kairi enter the Womens Royal Rumble, where she could very well earn her way to Wrestlemania. Depending on how the night goes, we could end with Asuka as RAW Womens Champion, and Kairi as the Rumble winner. That could put their team in a very interesting scenario for sure.
How do you want to see 2020 go for this dynamic tag team? Would you want to see them dominate as a team, or break off and become successful singles stars again? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below, and stay tuned to The Overtimer for more WWE news and speculation.
