WWE Monday Night Raw is raging on! We’ve got Becky Lynch defending her title against Asuka here in the Raw opening match!
WWE Raw Women’s Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs. Asuka
Becky takes the advantage to start with, winning out on the chain wrestling exchanges. Eventually Kairi Sane clips her leg for the distraction. She gets taken out, but it lets Asuka take the lead into the first commercial break. We come back to see Asuka hold Becky down with an armbar. Becky fights out of it, clothesline series commences. Leg lariat, roll to her feet! Spin kick to the gut, just kinda leaps at her to get a nearfall. They exchange shots, inside cradle for a nearfall, Becky ducks a clothesline and charges, but Asuka with a Pop-Up Knee to the face! Sit-Out Spinebuster for a nearfall!
Becky reverses and takes Asuka to the floor. To the apron, Kairi shoves Asuka out of the way of a Flying Clothesline and gets taken out herself but Asuka jumps her from behind! Takes her into the ring. Becky gets a boot up off the charge, to the second rope, she flies off but Asuka gets her with a Codebreaker out of the air! Asuka shoves her shoulder to the post, gets her setup on the apron, hits the ropes for a Hip Attack but Becky evades it, Dis-Arm-Her onto the top rope! Has to break after a bit of course. Suplex attempt on the apron but Asuka counters, ties her up and clobbers her in the back of the head.
Wants a slam but Becky slips behind her, Reverse DDT onto the apron right before another commercial break!
We come back to see Becky vulnerable on the top rope as Asuka pursues, hooks for a superplex! And she nails it! Nearfall! Asuka with a Triangle Choke, Becky rolls her onto her back for a two count but she keeps the hold in tight and now it’s cinched in deeper! Becky battles out, Gotch Lift Powerbomb for a nearfall! Becky to the second rope for her flying legdrop but Asuka counters into the Asukalock! Becky struggling and squirming, Asuka turns it into a cover but it’s reversed for quick two counts, roll-up from Becky for a nearfall, cradle returned for another – Becky with a sudden Uranage to end the sequence and it gets the victory!
Winner: Becky Lynch
Pretty cool TV match! Becky doesn’t get long to celebrate though – Shayna Baszler attacks! Kirifuda Clutch locked in! Shayna takes out her mouth guard and just bites the back of her neck, comes up with a ton of blood in her mouth! Becky sounds stunned as she writhes in pain after she leaves. Damn!
