WWE Friday Night SmackDown is on, folks! Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give you the live recap of the opening segment! We begin with Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross making their way onto the stage for a Moment Of Bliss, they’re both holding coffee mugs. Alexa welcomes us to the first Moment Of Bliss of 2020 and Nikki wishes us a happy Valentine’s Day. In the spirit of the day, she wants to talk celebrity crushes. She wants Alexa to say hers, she’s a little hesitant. Nikki interrupts to say she knows who it is, it’s Brad Pitt! Alexa says that’s exactly who she was gonna say. Asks who Nikki’s is, and she just says not to be naughty.
Alexa Bliss than transitions to their guest. Nikki introduces Carmella! Alexa congratulates her on defeating three other woman, including her, to get this shot. But a lot of people would say this victory was surprising, given that they hadn’t heard much from her lately. Carmella says she likes surprises and tonight she’ll surprise everyone by becoming a 2-time WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion and remind everyone that Mella Is Money. Actually got people chanting along with that, kinda surprised, it’s been a while since she said that.
Carmella notes that she and Bayley used to be best friends.
Alexa puts some pictures on the screen of Bayley and Carmella together and the crowd goes “awww”, which is really cute. Bliss asks what went wrong and Carmella blames Sasha Banks coming back. Says as soon as she came into the picture, Bayley started changing and calling everyone sheep. Bayley interrupts, saying this is nauseating. Says it’s not about Sasha, it’s about you. Even dating back to NXT, she hated her.
Sure, they were friends, she figured she could take her under a wing, since ‘Mella’s a loser and Bayley’s a champion. Alexa wants to interject and Bayley ends her existence by bringing up that she beat both her and Nikki in a handicap match last year. Totally squashed them both in that match too. Carmella stands up and gets in her face, demands that she put her money where her mouth is and go ahead and have that title match right here and now! Carmella enters the ring, and after a bit of hesitation, Bayley makes her way down the ramp. We cut to commercial, we’ve got a title match opener when we come back!
