WWE Monday Night Raw continues after that little triple threat came to it’s conclusion. Out comes Drew McIntyre who talks about how it’s 48 days away from WrestleMania and that means he has to point at the sign again. Gets the crowd to point along with him. Mentions that Suplex City goes through Claymore Country, as it says on his shirt. He’s interrupted by Paul Heyman who comes out onto the stage, gets a fair bit of jeers. Says his usual introductory spiel. Heyman introduces the reigning, defending, undisputed WWE Heavyweight Champion of the World, Brock Lesnar… except he doesn’t seem to be here.
McIntyre looks back, expecting to see him behind him. Paul then confirms that he’s not actually here tonight, he just wants everyone to know what it’ll sound like after the words “And STILL” after he defeats Ricochet at Super Show-Down and after he delivers an F-5 to Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania. Notes that he can point at the sign too. Drew says Heyman can say Brock Lesnar’s name all he wants, say it when he’s crying after McIntyre kicks his head off, beats him at WrestleMania and takes the WWE Championship. Paul Heyman tells Mr. McIntyre that he has profound respect for him, sir, and he did not come to debate him. He happens to be a huge admirer of his talents. But there is a man that he happens to know who is not such an admirer, he happens to be McIntyre’s opponent for the evening and he has a legitimate grievance with him. He presents MVP.
And indeed, out comes MVP himself.
Montel says that Heyman may not have an issue with Drew but he certainly does. As an old friend, he invited him to the VIP Lounge and he treated him with the respect of an Elite-level VIP. Says they’re old friends or so he thought. But how did he repay him? Drew says wait, he knows this one: he kicked his head off! MVP says no, what you did was hit him with a cheap shot. But he promises that tonight he’ll whoop him and he’ll see it coming, it won’t be a cheap shot. Tells the ref to ring the bell, before turning and nailing him with a cheap shot! Charging big boot in the corner! And now the bell has rung!
Drew McIntyre vs. MVP
MVP charges – McIntyre nails him with a Big Boot! Throws him into the corner and pummels him. MVP gets an elbow up on a charge but McIntyre pulls him out of the corner for a Future Shock DDT! Kips right up! Goes to the corner and starts the countdown! 3, 2, 1… Claymore!
Winner: Drew McIntyre
Continuing to book the challenger strong, can’t fault it.
