WWE Friday Night SmackDown is starting off as I type this. Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here to give you the recap and results from the show as they come. John Morrison and the Miz come out to begin the Dirt Sheet. Morrison says his shirt has buttons, but he doesn’t use them. Miz introduces himself as the Chick Magnet. When Morrison asks about this, Miz says he has a wife and two daughters so it’s never been more relevant. Morrison says that this show will win them all the oscars, emmys, grammys, and all the slammys.
They then show a video of some sort that involves the Miz’ dad talking up how you’re supposed to fight like Kofi Kingston, and also includes a cameo from Lance Storm just to get in his “If I can be serious for a minute” line. It kinda defies description but it’s much better than it had any right to be, even bringing back People Power! Miz says is it Oscar worthy? Maybe. WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championship-worthy? Definitely! Morrison says the applause and acclaim would mean a lot more if it was coming from an educated crowd like the Academy.
The New Day make their way out to talk about how that trailer had it all.
Kofi talks up the greatest athlete showing his thing… Mr. Miz! (That’s Miz’s dad.) Kofi talks up how he is in fact Mr. Miz’s favorite superstar. Likes him more than he likes his own son, that’s a shoot. Big E says the video had comedy, ’cause the fact that they think they will beat them for the tag titles is Richard Pryor-level comedy. Miz and Morrison share the laugh before abruptly cut it off. Miz says the New Day have no right to talk, they’ve dominated YouTube and they beat everybody to earn their shot at the WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
However there is one exception… the Usos make their way out! A thousand “whoa”s later, asking what they just said. Point out that they never beat the Usos and welcome them to the Uso Penitentiary! Ziggler’s theme hits, distracting the New Day, Miz and Morrison jump them from behind and there’s popcorn everywhere. Apparently the Usos vs. Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler is on up next!
That was much closer to the old Dirt Sheet than I expected.
