Ladies and gentlemen, it is Friday Night! We have got another edition of WWE SmackDown to look forward to here his evening! Tonight, a major eight man tag team match sees the rival Usos and New Day team up against Robert Roode, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz & John Morrison! My name is Jordan Huie, and I’m so happy to have you here with us tonight! You are visiting the Overtimer, and as always, I’ll be giving you the deep dive coverage into WWE Friday Night SmackDown! We have a decent amount announced in advance for the evening, not at all a common occurrence in WWE. So I’ll be sure to take advantage of that and give you all the previews for every single one! And with all that in mind…
The Usos & The New Day vs. Robert Roode, Dolph Ziggler, The Miz & John Morrison
A big eight man tag team match between four really good tag teams, and it’s actually a fairly logical one as well! The Usos have had major issues with Roode & Ziggler, as the two teams have been backing up Roman Reigns and King Corbin respectively in their ongoing feuds. Plus, they got into a spat with Miz & Morrison, pointing out that they never defeated them in spite of claiming to have beaten every team. Meanwhile, the New Day are the reigning WWE SmackDown Tag Team Champions. And they will be defending their titles against the recently returned team of Miz & Morrison at Super Show-Down this next Thursday.
So the eight of them will be facing off here in what promises to be an action-packed affair. Dolph in particular has also been busy breaking the hearts of Otis Dozovic and all his fans. We’ll see if that gets him any big heat here tonight, and if it could perhaps come into play. One would surely think we’ll be seeing Heavy Machinery vs. Roode & Ziggler soon enough, and eventually an Otis/Ziggler singles match too.
As for who wins this one, I imagine the finish will largely be meant as a preview for what could potentially come next Thursday. To me, odds are fairly good that The Miz & Morrison will get a victory here, giving them some added cred going into their title match. It’d make the most sense for them to pin one of the Usos, but nothing would surprise me.
