One of the biggest stars in WWE to come out of the UK is coming back. Finn Balor recently made his return to NXT, and has been finding great success there. He most recently defeated Johnny Gargano at NXT Takeover Portland, but his next major challenge could be in the UK.
Unfinished Business With Tyler Bate
At Worlds Collide, Finn Balor was successful in defeating Ilja Dragonauv, and later in the night provoked Tyler Bate of Moustache Mountain. This was after Bate came to the aid of Gargano, who had just beat him in a tag team match which saw DIY reunite. We saw Balor defeat Trent Seven after this, but he has yet to face Tyler Bate.
With them being two of the best wrestlers in the company, they would be sure to create some absolute magic if they should clash, and with Finn going to NXT UK for a few shows, it will be a perfect time to build to the match.
The next NXT UK Takeover is in Dublin, Ireland. While they could save the match for that event, it would be impossible for Finn Balor to be treated as a heel in his home country. Balor showing up at that event would be akin to CM Punk entering the arena at Money in the Bank 2011. Because of this, we are more likely to see this match happen during the tapings.
Could Finn Balor Be The Next Challenger For WALTER?
Should Balor be able to vanquish Tyler Bate, he could earn a shot at NXT UK Champion WALTER. While you wouldn’t be able to get Finn Balor as a heel in Dublin, it wouldn’t matter if he was facing WALTER. You could have Balor work as a babyface in that match, and it would work completely fine.
This would be a match which would remind folks of his time in NJPW, as WALTER is one of the most hard hitting and physical wrestlers in the world today. It could be a main event which rivals even Bate vs. WALTER, which was possibly the best match in WWE history.
