The vicious hunter of Lucha Underground, King Cuerno was a popular figure in the unique wrestling program. Otherwise known as El Hijo Del Fantasma, he is one of the top luchadors wrestling has to offer. He has been signed to WWE for nearly a year now, and just made his debut under his real name of Jorge Bolly at an NXT Live Event.
Injury and Adapting Delayed His Arrival
Being a top prospect signing, you would have expected to see him show up much sooner. There are two major factors which held him back. One was a reported injury, and the other was that he is a single father with two children who had just moved to a new country, as they came from Mexico up to Florida. Both of those things take time to sort out, and injury especially will keep you from competing in the ring.
Teaming With Raul Mendoza
At the NXT Live Event, Bolly would team with fellow luchador Raul Mendoza to defeat UK tag team Pretty Deadly. Fans of Progress Wrestling will recognize them, as they have appeared on many recent shows. This new tandem of Bolly & Mendoza will fit in great with the NXT Tag Team Division, who desperately need more teams. Brining them to TV alongside duos like Dio Maddin/Mansoor & Shane Thorne/Bronson Reed would do wonders for the division with only one defined tag team. Raul Mendoza has been around in WWE since the Cruiserweight Classic, yet barely used. It will be nice to see him potentially get some well deserved shine should this team take off.
Don’t Expect Jorge Bolly To Be A Finalized Name
While it is ordinary for wrestlers to use their real name until something else is figured out, rarely will it make it to TV. Their are exceptions to this obviously, but nine times out of ten they will get another name. Jorge Bolly especially is a name that fans wouldn’t be able to take seriously. It also undersells how great of a performer he is.
Are you excited to see what the future holds for this top level luchador within WWE? Is he doomed to be lost in the already packed NXT roster and will struggle to find a role on TV? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
