WWE Friday Night SmackDown from the empty Performance Center continues after that lengthy replay of the entire Tag Team Elimination Chamber match. Daniel Bryan and Cesaro will be facing off later on tonight but first, we cut to the tag champs themselves Miz and Morrison in the ring. They say that if there’s anybody here that doesn’t believe they’re the best tag team in WWE, speak up now. There is of course no reaction. Tonight, there will be no “You Suck” chants. Morrison mutters “You suck”, and Miz replies that he couldn’t possibly suck, he’s not from Orlando! That’s right, an attempt at garnering cheap heat from nobody! They say they don’t need a catchy singalong chants like the New Day or the Usos, before going into the “Hey Hey, Ho Ho, Miz & Morrison”.
Hooooo boy, untold remaining weeks of this, eh? They flash up pictures of Rob Gronkowski and say they’ll address the rumors of his signing tonight. Which is to say, they’ve totally confirmed his signing. Triple H makes a crack about how Miz and Morrison are really comfortable with zero crowd noise, as if it happens to them all the time. This is nice, I’m glad we’re doing this. Daniel Bryan and Drew Gulak are out now. Drew wants the Yes Chant in spite of no crowd, and Bryan obliges.
After a commercial break, Cole is now by himself and Triple H is filming him since they’re short-handed, again remarks that he’s still not very good at his job after 30 years. They then introduce Mojo Rawley to tell us quite happily that the rumors are true. While it’s not official, he’s not signed, it is official that next week Rob Gronkowski will be in the house. He’s so excited that he can barely keep his headset on. He yells at Cole to get hype and starts shaking him. Now, the match is finally starting.
Cesaro vs. Daniel Bryan
Lock-up, Bryan shoots him off but gets a shoulder block. Bryan takes Cesaro into the corner, high kicks to the chest. Cesaro reverses, gets him with a bunch of European Uppercuts, a charging one drops him to the mat and now we cut to commercial. During the break, the two men exchanged uppercuts until Bryan got him with a backslide but was taken down with a lariat. Back in the ring, Cesaro gets Bryan with his huge superplex for a nearfall! Charging uppercuts from Cesaro, Bryan escapes with a flip from the corner, big flying clothesline. Bryan gets him with Yes Kicks, kick to the head for a nearfall!
High kicks to the chest in the corner, Cesaro shoves him away, HUGE Very European Uppercut, holy crap! Nearfall, Cesaro slips him right into a crossface! Bryan escapes, inside cradle for the victory!
Winner: Daniel Bryan
Shinsuke rushes in to attack Bryan, Gulak making the save! Headbutts Nak, gets Cesaro into the Guillotine! But Sami Zayn slips into the ring and a triple teaming ensues! They pull him outside and toss him into the steps, but Bryan surprises them with a suicide dive and they make their leave! Bryan still favoring his neck.
