MLW Fusion #101 opens with a recap of the World title match and CIMA being kidnapped. The announcers are expecting something from CONTRA Unit about CIMA’s whereabouts. There’s also a recap of Injustice being denied entry into the 2300 Arena.
Konnan is stopped to discuss Laredo Kid and his match for the middleweight title when Injustice shows up. They get into with Konnan who tells champion, Myron Reed, that he needs shortcuts and that will be his legacy.
MLW World Middleweight Title: Myron Reed [c] vs. Laredo Kid
The crowd didn’t seem into the match initially. Things picked up midway when the big moves were whipped out. Kid managed to fend off against Brazil and Oliver interference. He keeps them down with a pair of dives to both men.
A little too much showboating on the apron results in Myron Reed catching Laredo Kid with a gorgeous Ace Crusher over the top and to the floor! That cutter was crescent fresh. Super cress at best. Reed ends this one with the No Cap Splash, a springboard 450.

Promo Time Courtesy of Major League Wrestling
In this episode of Lifestyles of Rich & Dynastic, it’s all about Gino Medina who has a match against OL’ MANCER. Alexander Hammerstone and Richard Holliday are good at promos and Gino is getting better. His timing is off but he gets his point across. Medina is a good talent in-ring but he needs just a little more confidence outside the ring but in front of the camera.
There was also a promo hyping Pagano’s debut soon.
Gino Medina vs. Mance Warner
This was a decent match with not a lot of sizzle. I mean it followed Reed vs. Kid, so. Mance Warner picks up the pin following a roll-up in this brief match. So short, I had to watch it twice as I was taking notes. After the match, an upset Medina slaps the taste out of a ref’s mouth!
Mancer def. Gino Medina via roll-up
The audacity—the gall—of this zebra to do his job and take the count. Vulgar. I’m upset for Medina.
Warning: Incoming Batch of Promos
Colonel Robert Parker is back in Major League Wrestling. He was originally there in 2018 with a stable headed up by Jake Hager. He has picked up the license for Mance Warner for 2020, apparently. The Von Erichs are talking with their pops, Kevin Von Erich. They’re discussing the recent situation with Team Filthy. Kevin gives them some encouragement in the most babyface of segments.
The PWI Top 10 contender rankings are read. Jacob Fatu isn’t included since he’s the MLW World Champion.

Brian Pillman Jr is awarded the 2019 PWI Rookie of the Year. He thanks former Rookie of the Year winners Orton, Angle, and Austin. His promo about how hungry he was in MLW kind of trailed off quickly but he salvaged it by dropping cheesesteak which got a pop.
Injustice is pissed about Pillman winning Rookie of the Year since he won MLW’s Rookie of the Year award in 2018. Kotto Brazil dropped some facts by running down his own main eventing and winning major shows the year he and Pillman debuted in Major League Wrestling. Myron Reed tells Pillman to drop weight, that he isn’t 205lbs and to challenge him.
Lawlor faces Killer Kross later and says that Kross is facing a threat.
Backstage, Dynasty tries to calm down Gino Medina. Holliday says that his lawyer/father will be speaking to Major League Wrestling and that Gino will be in on that discussion. We find out what happened to CIMA last week. He was out in the back of a hearse or some vehicle. Josef Samael tells the driver to take him some building and that CONTRA Unit member Kwan would handle him.
Tom Lawlor vs. Killer Kross
This wasn’t a bad bout at all. I’m thinking that this match was in an odd place on the card since it was largely the same vibe as the title match. Lawlor heeled it up hardcore to keep fans into the match and it worked. The action saw Lawlor and Kross really exchange blows, throws, and elbows. When things got hairy, Lawlor made sure to use his submissions to ground Kross.
The newcomer loves pain and his opponents resisting his assault. Even though Lawlor picked up that Kross can be handled on the mat, he kept getting into these strike contests with him. He also hit an ugly spinning back elbow on Kross. Not ugly as in mean mugging at how much stank and impact it had. This was one those no-touch elbows where someone bumps but you can see it doesn’t even have the illusion of connecting.
This match ended in a DQ after Team Filthy member Erick Stevens ran out and attacked Killer Kross on the outside.

Team Filthy is working Kross over when Davey Boy Smith Jr runs out for the save. So…Brian Pillman Jr just totally removed himself from the situation with Team Filthy? I guess his deal is with Injustice at the moment.
Must Watch From MLW Fusion #101: Myron Reed vs. Laredo Kid
This was the best match of the show. The action was constant and these guys gel well. Injustice’s heelwork outside the ring was great as well. Konnan was there in the role of a mentor or coach for Laredo Kid, so he wasn’t too involved. The ending of the match with Laredo Kid breaking out two dives seemed more like “Oh wow, we didn’t do any dives to the outside. BRB then we’ll wrap this up, Myron.”
Still, it was a fun, exciting match and the one to watch from this show. Lawlor vs. Kross would come a pretty close second. Let’s look at the card for MLW Fusion #102.
