No People Gate Analysis, A Look At The Opening Matches
Former WWA World Single Champion Momoe Nakanishi Leading A Chain Of Holds On March 8, 2020 During The No People Gate Event From Korakuen Hall via World Wonder Ring Stardom

World Wonder Ring Stardom (Stardom) held the No People Gate event from an empty Korakuen Hall on March 8th. The show was broadcast live on YouTube, featuring rolling donations from the live audience, with some fan offerings being the equivalent of over $50. The production quality, including commentary was extremely high — giving new and old fans of Stardom a modern look at the product.

The opening battle royal saw Mima Shimoda and former WWWA World Single Champion Momoe Nakanishi make an appearance along with Super Strong Starlight Machine and Captain Stardom, a play on the former Captain New Japan and Captain NOAH characters from several years ago. Nearly everyone taking part in the match had their moment to shine, and the roster worked together to make the match as exciting as possible.

Nakanishi’s elimination of Death Yama-san received a great deal of attention for the athleticism and dexterity of the rollup.

Nakanishi would be the star of the surprisingly exciting match, but it was Super Strong Starlight Machine (Saya Iida) who would take the victory. After the match Machine would take the microphone and seemingly call out Odeo Tai member Natsuko Tora, whose Wonder of Stardom Championship match was canceled due to champion Arisa Hoshiki suffering from a minor neck injury.

Natsuko would quickly defeat Machine, in what was a solid match despite being under five minutes. Both opening matches set the table for an impressive show, which more than 138,000 have viewed on YouTube at the time of the publishing of this article.
