WWE Monday Night Raw continues. Out comes Asuka and she actually peaks the mic yelling “WHY?!” and asks “Who are you?!” at her opponent for the night, which happens to be NXT’s Kayden Carter.
Asuka vs. Kayden Carter
Carter gets Asuka with a charging dropkick at the bell! Asuka responds with a hip attack, spanks herself to mock her. Faux kicks to the face, Kayden blocks one, O’Connor Roll for a nearfall, springing dropkick for another one. Asuka catches a kick, into an Ankle Lock, into a Leg-Trap German Suplex! Roundhouse kick to the head, hooks the arm, sinks down deep into the Asukalock and gets the tap!
Winner: Asuka
Asuka goes over to the announce table afterwards and takes up the headset, yelling into it and calling out Alexa and Nikki.
Rhea Ripley is walking outside the Performance Center when Charlotte Flair big boots her out of nowhere and sends her slamming into the garage door. Says “Hey rookie, see you at WrestleMania, wooo” and Ripley smiles, wiping non-existent blood from her mouth as she nods and says “Yeah, you will”. They then air the Rey Mysterio/Brock Lesnar match from Survivor Series for funsies. Dominik’s spots in that are so fun, I wonder when he’ll actually be getting in the ring. Really seems like there might be something there with him.
After a commercial break and card rundown, we see Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman in the ring.
Heyman gives us the usual intro. Says he hates to pull back the curtain of this business, he loves the magic of this business, he loves taking larger than life figures and embellishing and exaggerating. Says we’re all living through the most unique time we ever have together. They call this the go-home segment to the go-home Raw before WrestleMania and who stands here for this segment? Brock Lesnar. Why is that? Because year in and year out, Brock Lesnar is the Beast to slay. The conqueror of all conquerors, the one that everyone wants to beat. This year, Drew McIntyre has really stepped up.
Why? Because Drew McIntyre is that special, compared to the everyday guy on the street. Compared to the idiots at the gym saying “I can do that WWE stuff”, Drew McIntyre is that special. Compared to everyone backstage, and let’s be honest, that’s the greatest assembly of talent in WWE history, but even compared to them, Drew McIntyre is special. Know who else was special? Hulk Hogan, whose immortal blood ran across Lesnar’s chest. John Cena, The Rock, The Undertaker, Randy Couture, immortal icons and when they went up against Lesnar, they were just like everybody else, nothing special, just Brock’s bitch. We don’t need to exaggerate or market or promote how great the Claymore Kick is, they know. Just like they knew about the Rock Bottom, the Tombstone and everyone else’s moves.
Now that they know the Claymore Kick is coming, they’ll find out if it can kick down Brock Lesnar. Heyman has something for us, more than a prediction or a spoiler. It’s a guarantee. Says next year, what will be on the go-home segment for the go-home Raw to WrestleMania? Brock Lesnar, holding his title. Talking about how Drew McIntyre is just another name who was absolutely great but he got beaten fugly at WrestleMania. Drew will walk in special and walk out just like everybody else, nothing more than Brock’s bitch. End of show.
