WWE Monday Night Raw continues, most of the way through now. Charlotte Flair being interviewed about reliving that WrestleMania moment of hers just now, as they showed her defeating Asuka and ending her famed undefeated streak. Charlotte says she found it inspiring. Rhea Ripley must have as well because she wants to be just like her. Charlotte says Ripley must be proud of being in the first-ever NXT Women’s title match at WrestleMania. But Charlotte makes history at WrestleMania every year. We just saw her beat Asuka’s undefeated streak at WM 34. At WM 33, she retired the Diva’s title and re-introduced the WWE Women’s Championship. And at WM 35 she was part of the first-ever women’s main event at WrestleMania. Now, she’ll be the first person to win the NXT Women’s title at WrestleMania. As for Rhea she can go back and watch some of her legacy matches, she’ll learn something. Out comes Randy Orton.
Randy Orton says that his act of love has been misconstrued as an act of brutality.
Says he must apologize to Edge for what he said three weeks ago to Beth Phoenix. He said something that wasn’t true when called Edge a junkie for the roar of the crowd. He’s truly a junkie for his own ego, Adam Copeland is a junkie for Edge. Orton admits that he was handed an opportunity because of his name, but that doesn’t guarantee a Hall of Fame career, does it? Randy says that a year after he debuted on the main roster he won the Intercontinental title. A year later he became the youngest world heavyweight champion in WWE history.
Randy recounts how Edge says Mick Foley passed the torch to both of them. But while Foley may have passed the torch to Edge, he threw Orton into thumbtacks and he fought back up and spat in his face and took the damn torch. Says he does have grit, but perhaps he and Edge think of ‘grit’ as two different things. To Orton, grit is not sitting at home for nine years looking up at the stars and asking “What if”, he says grit is having longevity in a business where that’s hard to come by, grit is being the one mainstay in the WWE locker room. Says when he’s back there he looks around and he doesn’t see anyone who has achieved what he has. On the grounds of being entitled, he says Edge would’ve done the same thing if Triple H invited him into Evolution. Says Edge may write this story, but he will write the last chapter.
