I can’t say I’d blame you at all for not realizing this but WWE Elimination Chamber is tonight! The pre-show is starting as I type this! And on that pre-show, we will see the Viking Raiders take on Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins! My name is Jordan Huie, you are here with us tonight at the Overtimer where we’ll be giving you live coverage of WWE Elimination Chamber! That means recaps and results from the show as they come, plus previews of everything you can expect! As I said, the Kickoff is rolling on as I speak so let’s get a move on!
The Viking Raiders vs. Zack Ryder & Curt Hawkins
Alright so this is gonna be a squash, right? I mean one can only hope, seriously. The Raiders have dropped a bit in the past month or so but they are still ingrained enough in the Rollins/Owens group feuds that they should be a force in their own way. And Hawkins and Ryder, I mean I love ’em but there’s no salvaging what they are. To try and do so here would only do more harm than good. It should take you longer to read this preview than the match itself will actually last.
The Viking Raiders amazingly have still not had a straight-up tag team match against Akam and Rezar of AOP. This is incredible when it really seemed for months and months like that was the plan. Of course everyone knows WWE never shifts gears on these things, it’s impossible to think that perhaps their role has diminished somewhat from where it was going to be… I certainly can’t really imagine that being a Mania match that we’re building to at this rate, they barely even talk about it. But still, it should happen on Raw at some point between now and then, and until then, the Raiders should be kept looking strong.
Granted they did lose to the OC at Super Show-Down for some reason… but I mean, as far as WWE events and results go, you can’t really get more obscure than the pre-show of a Saudi Arabia show. So it’s not like that was gonna have a ton of impact on their career either way, I suppose. So yeah, I guess Erik and Ivar are still fine for now. As long as this match here is a squash anyway… Viking Raiders over.
