Everything is fairly unsure in the wrestling world tonight, but things will be the same as usual for tonight with WWE. Smackdown was cancelled from it’s intended venue and moved to the WWE Performance Center. Despite this, and fears that major stars wouldn’t be around, John Cena has confirmed he will be involved with his historic episode of Smackdown Live.
John Cena Confirmed His Presence For Smackdown On Twitter
As many fans expected Cena to be someone we wouldn’t see on tonights show, he would take to Twitter to let everyone know that he won’t be missing this. “I’ve been incredibly fortunate to be a part of some “historic” moments. There is a lot going on, but tonight our family will bring entertainment to yours. Smackdown TONIGHT” was his statement, which has fans keen to tune in this evening. Seeing John Cena perform in-front of what could be a fanless crowd in the WWE Performance Center to hype his feud with Bray Wyatt is just something that no one expected to see in 2020.
Could His Match With The Fiend Happen Earlier Than Wrestlemania?
John Cena is a busy man at this point in his life. He is now firmly a part-timer wrestler, and focuses on his acting career in Hollywood. While he found time for the original date of Wrestlemania, it is very likely to be pushed back into the year. If this happens, it could conflict with another project of Cena. Because of this, more so than any other match on this card, it could happen sooner. While it would be a shame for this huge match to not happen at Wrestlemania, having it happen at all would be a gift at this point.
The story has been brewing since John Cena stomped out Bray Wyatt’s initial momentum with their last Wrestlemania match, and The Fiend has another debt to collect from him. Having Wyatt beating John Cena is what The Fiend needs to rehab his loss to Goldberg in Saudi Arabia.
With this being maybe the final time we will see John Cena wrestle, do you think WWE should ensure it is at Wrestlemania? Or is it more important for this match to just happen? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
