Wrestlemania will take place over April 4th & 5th, and most of the major matches will be aired as planned. We will see Brock Lesnar defend the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre, Edge get his revenge on Randy Orton, and Shayna Baszler try to end Becky Lynch, amongst other matches. But with everything so uncertain, WWE is reportedly taking some extra steps to ensure this show happens no matter what. No one ever said Wrestlemania had to be live, especially with no fans to spoil the surprises.
WWE Is Aggressively Taping This Week
In the world of WWE, you need to get used to long work days, or soon a long work week. WWE has reportedly made plans to aggressively tape content for RAW, Smackdown and even Wrestlemania from the WWE Performance Center. This comes as a surprise, as it risks their biggest marquee event being spoiled. While there are no fans who can spoil the matches, it only takes one disgruntled employee to blow the roof off everything. With city wide quarantines happening in the United States, WWE has to take that risk if the show must go on.
It Won’t Matter To Most Fans
While some fans might complain about a pretaped Wrestlemania, most fans won’t notice the difference or particularly care. They’ll just want to sit back, and watch their favorite wrestlers do what they do best. They just want a distraction from the crazy world around them, and Wrestlemania could be exactly that for many. The reason the show must go on in the eyes of the WWE superstars is that it is their duty to do what they can to entertain.
This Will Be The Weirdest Wrestlemania
Between no fans, a small venue, and the potential of everything being pretaped, it doesn’t quite have the mania aspect of Wrestlemania. The action will be the best possible, and they will do their best to give a great show. It will be one for the history books, both a showcase of the dedication of WWE Superstars and the stubbornness of Vince McMahon. It will make for a fantastic WWE 24 special if nothing else.
