One superstar on the Monday Night RAW roster who has fallen hard in recent weeks is Ricochet. Despite having a shot at Brock Lesnar and the WWE Championship at Super Showdown, he got no offense in and lost in mere seconds. He proved to be gutsy in standing up to Brock, but guts didn’t get him far.
What Has Ricochet Being Doing Since He Faced Brock Lesnar?
Since losing his chance at the WWE Championship, we have seen Ricochet twice. Once was a loss to Riddick Moss over the 24/7 Championship, and the next time was on the tapings for WWE Main Event last night, where he lost to Eric Young. Going from facing the top name in the company to facing people lower than the under-card makes this one of the fastest falls in recent memory.
Is An NXT Return In Order?
There is no question that Ricochet had a much better run during his time in NXT. A former North American Champion, Ricochet had some classic matches with the likes of Adam Cole & Johnny Gargano, as well as a great winning run in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic with Aleister Black. His final night in NXT came when he & Black failed to defeat War Raiders for the NXT Tag Team Championship.
Ricochet despite his high heights in NXT, has unfinished business. He never got a shot at the NXT Championship, and that is something that many fans wanted to see. One of the masters of the modern wrestling style, Ricochet was the man who made the proclamation that ‘Wrestling Is Art’ in the past. That is not something that matters on the entertainment heavy RAW or Smackdown.
Anytime They Need A Hand I’ll Be There
Speaking with Good Morning Washington, Ricochet had the following to say about the possibility of returning to NXT. “For sure, that’s a place that I would like to always call a home for me. It’s a place that I enjoyed thoroughly while I was being there. Now that they have more exposure, every Wednesday on the USA network I think that’s huge too. So yeah, for sure. Anytime they need a hand for sure I will be there, no problem.”
