While both halves of the legendary Hardy Boys are huge names, Matt Hardy will never match the peaks that Jeff Hardy hit as solo star. In 2008 & 2009, Jeff Hardy was arguably one of the biggest stars in all of WWE, even claiming both the WWE & World Heavyweight Championships during this time, and reportedly outselling top star John Cena in merchandise. Injuries and personal demons would drive him away from WWE, but ever since his return people have been wanting to see one last top level run from him. He has been linked with his brother Matt since that return, but with Matt out of WWE and Jeff on his own, there is one piece left of the puzzle for a solo run.
Jeff Hardy Wants No More Words Back
During his time as a solo star, Jeff Hardy moved away from the classic Team Extreme theme song, instead using the now iconic ‘No More Words’. On an appearance for WWE Backstage, during a Twitter Q&A segment, he was asked about this old theme son; specifically as the lead singer of Endeverafter revealed WWE owns the rights to the song. Jeff claims having it back would peak his motivation for his wrestling career, and has been eager to get it back. If there is truth to WWE having these rights, there is no good reason to not bring this song back.
A similar situation is on-going with Sheamus, who has been wanting his old theme ‘Written In My Face’ back to go along with his revived look. WWE wouldn’t bring it back as they felt no one would remember it, and we could be in a similar situation with this theme song. The only classic theme from that era brought back was that of John Morrison. Even Shelton Benjamin was given a generic theme instead of his old theme, which was the start of this trend.
Other Questions Answered
He also answered questions like who would he like to face in NXT, which he answered Roderick Strong. He also revealed he wants one more big Wrestlemania match before he retires, and gave himself a timeline of 2 to 3 years to accomplish this. Jeff doesn’t specifically want a main event, just a big one on one showcase. Time is running out for this year, but seeing as he is cleared to return, there is always a chance for something to happen.
Do you think WWE should bring back No More Words for Jeff Hardy, or should he stay with the Team Extreme theme song? Let us know what you think in the comments down below.
