WWE Monday Night Raw is upon us, the vaunted Raw-after-WrestleMania… but uh, not really sure what to expect from this one. This is actually shown off pretty clearly by the fact that Asuka is opening the show, I sure wouldn’t have called that one. She’ll be facing Liv Morgan, that’s a good opportunity for her. I remember years ago Liv challenged her in NXT and got beaten in seconds. We will see a WWE Raw Tag Team Titles rematch later on in the show.
Asuka vs. Liv Morgan
Lock-up, Asuka pushes Liv into the ropes and pulls her hair amidst the top rope. Has to break, snapmare, stomps to the abdomen. Liv fights her way up, driving forearms. Hits the ropes, Asuka does as well though, Liv turns around right into a leaping Hip Attack! Grabs at the hair, Morgan pushes her away, Matrix Dodges out of a clothesline attempt and into the roll-up for 2. Headscissor takeover. Charges but gets caught with a Drop Toe Hold into the corner. Morgan with a back elbow though, springs off the second rope for a dropkick! Asuka rolls to the floor. Liv pursues. Charges right into a roundhouse kick! Commercial break.
When we come back, Liv is being controlled in the ring with an arm wringer. Liv tries to fight back but Asuka trips her to the mat. Charges, Liv with the boot up. Rolls over her, Asuka with a pop-up knee lift to the face for a nearfall! Asuka with some mocking kicks, Liv ducks a roundhouse and gets a Jacknife Cover for a nearfall! Grabs her, Springboard Codebreaker! But she’s too worn out to cover. Morgan ducks a clothesline, gets a series of clotheslines, hair trip facebuster, step-up enziguri! Double foot stomp to the back, wow! Cover for a narrow nearfall. Liv reaches down at Asuka but she zombies up into a Cross Armbreaker! Liv rolls her for a cover for 2, but then Asuka whips behind her and tosses her with a big German Suplex! Shining Wizard nailed, cover, Liv has to get the foot on the rope to break it up!
Asuka pulls Liv up, Liv reverses a whip, tries a springboard but she gets caught out of the air into the Asukalock! Morgan flips into a cover for a nearfall but Asuka still has it locked as she stands up! Morgan desperately reaching for the ropes but eventually she gets pulled to the mat and has to submit!
Winner: Asuka
That was pretty cool! Liv is lowkey one of the most improved superstars on the roster, she’s come a long way.
