While there wasn’t many cuts made to the NXT UK roster, The Wrestling Genius Kassius Ohno has been confirmed to have been released from the company after being moved to the alumni section of WWE.com. This ends his second stint with the company, with his first ending around 2013. It also might be his last. Kassius Ohno might have now hung up his boots, but will a Hero rise?
Chris Hero Is From The Golden Age Of Independent Wrestling
While he has failed to find the same success as his colleges in Daniel Bryan, CM Punk and others from the early to mid 2000’s American Independent scene, Chris Hero is one of the most highly regarded stars from that time. Having never lost a beat, even his rather muted performances in NXT UK showed how great he is. Now with any shackles removed, Chris Hero should be able to once again prove he is one of the best wrestlers in the world. In 2016, before resigning with WWE, Hero had one of the best years a wrestler could have had at the time. He faced everyone from Cody Rhodes to Matt Riddle and had classics along the way.
Kassius Ohno Could Become The Hero All Elite Wrestling Needs
While the AEW Roster is fairly stacked, they are home to the a ton of the talent that Hero has come up alongside, like Colt Cabana, Brodie Lee, Jack Evans & Christopher Daniels. In WWE, Hero was able to work as both a coach and wrestler, which is a role that AEW could use him in as well. He has an insane amount of value to the company, and could put on classics with the likes of Kenny Omega. Combine that with his ability to help coach young talent like Darby Allin, Sammy Guevara, Jungle Boy Anthony Ogogo, Austin Gunn and Sonny Kiss and you could have one of the best signings in AEW history.
Even if he just floats around the indies, we are sure to get some fantastic matches again now that he is outside of the WWE system. Beyond AEW, we could see him head to Pro Wrestling NOAH, New Japan Pro Wrestling, Impact Wrestling, Ring Of Honor, etc. The wrestling world needs a Hero more than ever, and now they have that.
