WWE Monday Night Raw returns. Backstage, Drew McIntyre is asked about what Zelina Vega and Andrade have been saying about him. Drew points out a scar on his arm that he glances down at two or three times a night. The scar from the bicep surgery he needed after what Andrade did to him. Says he doesn’t forgive or forget. Tonight he will Claymore Andrade and hurt Andrade and if he has to take a few months off as a result, so be it. Pretty cool promo. Gotta say, I think the one night build for this match has been more effective than a lot of WWE’s long-term angles. I’m pretty excited for this main event at this point.
Kairi Sane vs. Nia Jax (Women’s Money In The Bank Qualifiers)
Kairi charges to start with and gets picked up and tossed across the ring with the greatest of ease. Kairi up top, tries to kick her away, just leaps over her and lands on her feet. Kairi pantomimes climbing the ladder to grab the briefcase. Ducks a shot and tries a charging dropkick but Nia doesn’t sell it a lick, casually throws her out of the ring. Kairi manages to roll back in but is effortlessly slammed into the mat. Nia with a powerful clothesline. Pulls her up, throws her around by the hair a couple of times. Hoists her way up high with a Military Press into a Samoan Drop which she apparently calls the Annihilator and that is that.
Winner: Nia Jax
It’s kinda sad to see that happen to Kairi Sane but you couldn’t really expect anything else from this match given how she’s been presented of late. She just plain didn’t have a prayer in there with Nia, who did need to be booked strong given that she’s just come back from a year long layoff. As expected, this means the Raw side of the Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match consists of Asuka, Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax. I uh, guess SmackDown will have to provide some babyfaces for that. Shouldn’t have trouble with the likes of Naomi, Lacey Evans, Carmella, Alexa, Nikki… yannow, there’s actually a pretty severe alignment imbalance there now that I look at it. Could probably use some trades between the two divisions. I assume we’ll be getting that eventually.
