No more speculation, rumors, or any other assorted nonsense. It is finally official. After months, maybe even years of teasing, The Revival (Dash Wilder & Scott Dawson) have been released from their WWE contracts, and are free to perform anywhere in the world. Their contracts were set to expire very soon, with Scott Dawson’s potentially being up before Dash Wilders due to injuries freezing deals, but both members have been released, as per WWE.com.
Will The Revival Have A Non-Compete Clause?
Where there was only a few months left on their contracts at best, they might not have the 90 day non-compete clause, but if they do, they can only show up on TV around July 10th at the soonest. If this is not in play, they could do what they can to find a set of tapings that will let them in. This is a terrible time to be released, as it will be hard to get on TV where companies are batch taping in closed sets. Because of this, it still might be months before we properly see The Revival enter a ring to prove to people that they are still one of the best tag teams in the world.
Likely Bound For All Elite Wrestling
While AEW have months of TV already taped from The Nightmare Factory in Georgia, it is the most likely next home for this tag team. They have long teased a feud with The Young Bucks, starting back in the early days of Being The Elite. Because of this, and the fact that there was two tag team matches from the backyard of The Young Bucks on the previous episode of their popular YouTube show, we could even see their first clash happen where this all began.
They might not sign exclusive deals right away, and instead look to work everywhere possible and get some other dream matches out of the way, like facing The Rock n’ Roll Express in the National Wrestling Alliance. It will be interesting to keep an eye on them, as they have only had one or two chances to really impress a large audience recently, with a trip to NXT to face Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly being one of those chances. They delivered some classics many will never see on house shows, with two out of three falls matches going near an hour with teams like Bobby Roode & Chad Gable.
