Triple H Speaks On Why He Has Never Been Involved With Money In The Bank

Triple H is a man who has done just about everything in WWE. He is a 14 time world champion, five-time Intercontinental Champion, a three-time world tag team champion,  a two-time European Champion, making him the company’s seventh Triple Crown Champion and second Grand Slam Champion. He has also won two Royal Rumbles and King of The Ring. Only two accolades evade him, those being the United States Championship and Money In The Bank. The United States Championship was brought over from WCW when Triple H was already an established top name, which is why he never won that. But many top names have won Money In The Bank, from CM Punk to John Cena to Seth Rollins to Brock Lesnar. Why did Triple H never enter and become Mr. Money In The Bank?

Triple H Is Not A Fan Of The Modern Ladder Match

While Triple H has been involved in a number of ladder matches, most notably a classic at Summerslam ’98 against The Rock, they were not the type of ladder match that we see today. The game was changed by teams like The Hardys, Edge & Christian, and The Dudley Boys. Ladder matches became more about falling in increasingly risky ways, while Triple H is more into another format, one that you don’t see with Money In The Bank. Speaking with Newsweek ahead of his 25th anniversary, he revealed this information.

“I have no desire to climb a high ladder and get pushed off of it,” he said. “There are certain guys that are built for ladders and guys who are and I’m not one of them. My ladder matches have normally involved me whacking someone with it or getting whacked with it a lot. So climbing and falling off of it is not my forte.

When the MITB ladder matches started to come around, it was built around an additional match at WrestleMania. I’ve really just had these other storylines going on where I was never sort of involved in the MITB matches themselves. I’ve had ladder matches and been involved with a lot of them. It’s never anything that I regret because you’ve never seen me do a moonsault for a reason.”

This is a situation where Triple H realized a limitation in his style, and did his best to avoid it. Do you think Triple H would have made for a deadly Mr. Money In The Bank? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
