In WWE, it could take someone years to get a shot to become champion, but that is not the case for Jake Atlas. The 25 year old has been involved with WWE since 2018, appearing on an episode of Undercover Boss with Stephanie McMahon, one of the features of that episode, he became a brand ambassdor for WWE, helping with the Be A Star campaign. Not enough for the young wrestler, he worked his way into the WWE Performance Center in 2019, and made his debut against Dexter Lumis on the April 1st episode of NXT. His rise continues, as he is one of 8 men who will compete to be the first ever interim Crusierweight Champion.
Jake Atlas Won’t Let The Biggest Chance Of His Career Go To Waste
No matter how this tournament goes for Jake Atlas, these next three matches against KUSHIDA, Drake Maverick and Tony Nese will be the most important of his career. He will have a spotlight brighter than he has ever experienced, as this is the biggest chance of his career. Before this he was a part of the annual Battle Of Los Angeles tournament for Pro Wrestling Guerilla, which got his name on the map. Now he has a chance to prove himself in WWE, after only a single match. For a young performer, this type of showcase is unprecedented, and Atlas will not let this go to waste.
The Wildcard Of The A-Block
KUSHIDA and Tony Nese are the favorites to win the A-Block of this tournament, and Drake Maverick is as good as they get when he gets serious making him a strong contender. We know what to expect from those three, but Atlas is essentially unknown as far as potential goes. Having only competed at a low level thus far in his career, there isn’t a large amount of tape on him to study. He could lose every match, or he could sweep every man in the tournament after showing his full potential. Jake Atlas is a risky bet, but by the time this tournament is over, we will know exactly what kind of competitor he is, and he is sure to make some wave.
