After a loss to Isiah ‘Swerve’ Scott on last weeks edition of 205 Live, Joaquin Wilde needs to get back on track within WWE. One way to do that is to knock off one of the best in the world, that being KUSHIDA. KUSHIDA has been off TV since he brought Team NXT victory in the huge 10 Man Elimination match on 205 Live, so he is coming off a huge win in that. This was always going to be an expert level cruiserweight showdown, with it having potential to boost a man up to the next challenger of NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin.
KUSHIDA Proves He Is Wilde Too
Being one of the best junior heavyweight wrestlers in the world, KUSHIDA has started to gain momenteum in NXT. He has suffered a few big losses to NXT UK Champion WALTER and NXT Champion Adam Cole, but has been able to defeat anyone else in NXT. Wilde would look to prove that wrong, bringing his own expertise to this match. KUSHIDA would prove he beats Wilde in pure technical ability, nearly catching Wilde early with an armbar. Wilde would resist, knowing the danger of that manuver from KUSHIDA. KUSHIDA would continue to focus on the arm, but Wilde managed to get moving and found some control after an arm drag, working the arm himself.
KUSHIDA would rally back with his signature armdrag, cartwheel, dropkick combonation, regaining control of the match and getting a near fall. After a commercial break, Wilde had regained control of the match with a huge neckbreaker for a near fall. A flipping facebuster would further damage KUSHIDA. Wilde would be head into the corner, but a kick to the left arm would send him crashing back down to the mat. His left arm would be near useless at this point, as KUSHIDA punished it with more kicks. A handspring back elbow would serve as the prelude to an arm drag, which KUSHIDA would transition into an armbar, stretching the hurt left arm out. This would force Wilde to tap out, giving KUSHIDA another win.
Joaquin Wilde Kidnapped?!
A few weeks back after a loss to KUSHIDA, Raul Mendoza would be abducted by masked men in the parking lot of Full Sail University. We would see this scenerio play out once again, this time with Wilde being the victim. It is unclear who is behind this, and does KUSHIDA play into this? He is now linked to both abducted men, causing some doubt. He shows great sportsmanship in the ring, but could there be something dark at play here? Is KUSHIDA involved, or just a red herring?
