WWE Monday Night Raw is on. The Gauntlet Match continues it looks like the last man in is none other than AJ Styles. But first, we have Humberto Carrillo still survivin’ against Austin Theory.
Humberto Carrillo vs. Austin Theory
Carrillo is still on the mat as Theory comes into the ring. After a sudden DQ commercial that funnily stars AJ Styles, Theory is working over the midsection of Carillo with a waistlock. Carrillo fights up, back elbow to the face to escape but Theory rebounds with a big dropkick. Waistlock cinched back in. This is a workin’ waistlock folks. Carrillo tries to fight him off but he can’t get lift him onto his shoulders. Spin kick to the gut lands though, kick to the face, Springboard Kick and it’s pretty poorly filmed on the first play but Theory gets him with a forearm right to the chest out of the air for a 2 count. Looked good in the replay atleast. Theory takes Carrillo up top, Superplex nailed but Carrillo gets his legs up to hook with Theory’s and there’s the pin.
Winnner: Humberto Carrillo
Does Carrillo have a finish right now? Asking for a friend.
Carrillo is happy but then out comes AJ Styles, making his return after the Boneyard Match at WrestleMania! Rumors were true.
Humberto Carrillo vs. AJ Styles
AJ of course has the advantage and is getting the heat on Carrillo, not rushing at all. Carrillo fights back though, avoids the AJ Styles Combination and nails him with a big Dragon Whip! AJ with a big clothesline though takes the advantage right back. Second Rope Moonsault into Reverse DDT attempt but Carrillo cradles him to reverse for a 2 count. AJ with a gutbuster, transitioning into the Calf Crusher and there is the finish.
Winner: AJ Styles
Soooo to recap. Bobby Lashley squashed three guys who really shouldn’t have been in this match to begin with. Then he got DQ’d for very silly reasons against Carrillo. Carrillo had a sunset flip to pin Angel Garza, then hooked the legs after being superplexed to surprise Theory with a cover… and then AJ Styles came in and pretty quickly defeated him and made him tap to his secondary finish. A submission which works over the legs, rather then the injured ribs that had actually been focused on throughout the gauntlet match. Cool. WWE definitely thinks this whole thing got Humberto incredibly over.
