WWE Monday Night Raw continues. Now the actual axe throwing competition starts. They each get ten throws. Naturally Erik and Ivar are doing this effortlessly. Dawkins and Ford miss every toss. Vikings are up 5-0. They hit their sixth which I feel like means an immediate victory by default but it keeps going anyway. Profits continue to miss. At 10-0, Ford finally gets one and they celebrate like they won. Then come the police. Turns out one of the axes went right through the windshield. They demand to know which of them did it. They want to figure it out by seeing who can throw it. Angelo Dawkins takes up an axe and throws it behind him and somehow it hits the bullseye. Profits celebrate with a horse. I assume the Viking Raiders were arrested.
Apollo Crews backstage says he doesn’t know what hurt more, the injury or missing Money In The Bank. Says these last few weeks have been the longest of his life, wondering what could’ve been. But he had to look deep inside of himself and realize he couldn’t waste any more time wondering. All it took was him stepping back into the ring tonight for something to happen. Says that next week on Monday Night Raw he is once again challenging Andrade for the United States Championship. Says it really feels great to say that again.
Now, Zelina Vega comes up to him and says he has a choice. He can quit while he’s ahead and keep from being hurt again, or he can step into the ring with Andrade next week. Apollo says he’ll be there and asks why Andrade isn’t here, suggesting he might be afraid of him slapping his face off again. He gives a little fake chuckle as per the script. He actually was doing much better here than I recall him ever coming off in promos previously but the weak little laugh ruined it, very, very forced.
Finally, we have our main event with Drew McIntyre coming out to face off with King Corbin. I have felt every last bit of these three hours tonight. Oh, no, before that we have one last bit at the axe throwing contest. The police warn them that it’s dangerous to be throwing axes. They’ll let them go this time, only because they’re cute. She says that to Ivar, but not so much to Erik.
