Ah, a week of A Lifetime in Love theme, and CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers is here with the fun throwback spoilers to help get us ready for a true classic.
Originally aired on October 31, 1981, this episode is full of tricks and treats, depending on how one views what’s happening. For Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) — pre-Newman by a bit, if we want to be technical — this is her first visit to the Newman ranch. It’s going to be full of wonder and delight as it’s like stepping though a portal into another world. It’s comfortable, safe, welcoming, and has a surprise guest that’ll appear to help things along.

When in doubt, bring a friend
We’ve all heard or experienced having a third person with on a date to help chaperone. They’re there to offer support, guidance, and keep things from going out of control.
Sounds good, right? Well, toss all of that out the window.
Victor Newman (Eric Braeden)’s old friend, Colonel Douglas Austin (Michael Evans), makes an appearance and quickly assumes the position as the third wheel.
The only problem with this chaperone is he’s there to press Nikki, to test if what’s between her and Victor is real or an infatuation or worse, an attempt to get at his money and power.
Given how hard Victor worked to create and build the Newman empire, the last thing he wants is to fall prey to a vixen that doesn’t really care for him. It makes sense, and CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers have to agree with him on this one.
So, as Nikki gets her first taste of what life at the ranch could be like, she had to deal with the good colonel who won’t make things easy on her. In fact, this could be the toughest test she ever had to take. This is one where getting a look at the teacher’s master test would’ve come in handy.
Still, it’s not all doom and gloom and suffering, at least for us. We get to experience the Newman ranch as it was and through Nikki’s eyes. It’ll be like walking into another world for all of us, and it’ll be an amazing experience many of us thought would never come again.
If only someone would offer a ranch like this to us, right?
Before we settle in and allow ourselves to be swept away, let us know your thoughts on what’s your favorite scene or what you’re looking forward to seeing during this week’s Lifetime of Love theme.
