WWE Monday Night Raw continues. Drew McIntyre will be on the VIP Lounge later tonight. First, the IIconics come out to the ring and they both want to apologize to each other – for costing each other the match and for the slap. They talk about how they’ve come too far together. They signed their contracts together and won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships at WrestleMania. This gets applause, confusingly. But then the IIconics turn it heel mode and say they were never even allowed to defend the tag team titles, but they were overlooked and undervalued. They say they would still be tag champs if not for some sort of conspiracy. Alexa Bliss and Nikki Cross make their way out and Alexa tells them they had every opportunity and they blew it. Nikki starts to speak up and they demand she quiet down and look grateful but Nikki has a fiery promo telling them that she went through all the same steps as them and she scratched and clawed to be here.
Nikki says Lexi gave her a chance when no one else would and now they’re the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions because Lexi stops her from going off the deep end and helps her stay focused and that’s because of their friendship and there’s nothing more iconic than that. The IIconics jump them after that, Spinning Heel Kick takes out Nikki, Alexa gets posted. They hit Nikki with a tag move that’s a little bit like the Magic Killer but inverted. The IIconics stand tall, taking up the tag titles and posing with them before dropping upon Alexa and Nikki.
Backstage, Lana confronts MVP who is pretending to be busy messing with his phone. After a long pause Lana says we need to talk. MVP just says no, we don’t and makes his leave. This transitions to the VIP Lounge. MVP gives a special welcome to the Performance Center trainees in the building tonight, asks them to enjoy themselves and says the tabs are on him. Cheap pop if ever there was one. MVP claims that the VIP Lounge probably won’t be the only open night club around for much longer but it will be the only one to feature the soon-to-be-FORMER WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.
Out McIntyre comes. He goes ahead and clears the furniture, man is that ever routine at this point they don’t even pretend. Drew demands MVP get Lashley out here. MVP says no contract, no contact. Lashley won’t be putting him in the Full Nelson tonight or next week, they’re saving it for Backlash. MVP reminds him of when he selflessly offered him his guidance to help him become WWE Champion. He says he remembers trying to be a friend to Drew and he responded with a Claymore Kick to the face. Drew says you can just say Claymore, it’s clearly a kick. MVP says after that happened, he knew two things. Drew will definitely be WWE Champion… but when he loses it, he will be personally involved in the outcome. He says it took Lashley 13 years to get another WWE title match and he did it. Drew says big deal it took him 19 years to get his first, and what happened? He beat Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania and it took five minutes. McIntyre says he recalls when MVP offered him his services and says a lot of what was said applies to Lashley as well. McIntyre says he doesn’t need anyone thinking for him, talking for him or kissing his ass. One thing Lashley said stuck with him; the only way he will take that WWE title from him is to pry it from his cold dead hands. MVP growls, “That can be arranged”. Lashley emerges, as MVP introduces him as the soon to be WWE Champion, Drew nails him with a Claymore and kips up, MVP rolls to the floor and Lashley takes him to the back as McIntyre demands he get back into the ring.
