It’s Friday everybody and that means another edition of WWE SmackDown here tonight. We’ve got the last leg of the Money In The Bank qualifiers on the blue brand side this evening, with the final spot in the Men’s SmackDown MITB ladder match being decided in a grudge match. Dolph Ziggler and Otis Dozovic face off atleast one more time, with high stakes this go-round! You can expect the same coverage of Friday Night SmackDown as always, including in-depth previews, so let’s get to it!
Dolph Ziggler vs. Otis Dozovic (Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match Qualifier)
This is of course a pairing that’s been feuding for quite some time. Otis and Dolph were on opposing sides of a love triangle with Mandy Rose caught in the middle. This was until it was revealed that Sonya Deville had been conspiring with Dolph to make sure that Mandy and Otis never got together. This betrayal severed Mandy’s relation with both Sonya and Dolph. Now, all the heels can do is try for spite. And Ziggler sure has a shot at that right here.
It’s a little bit hard to call really. WWE’s law of 50/50 would dictate that it’s Ziggler’s turn to win a singles match in this series. But of course, Otis is the much more over act and is the one they’re keen on pushing at the moment. Frankly someone like Otis would be a much more likely MITB winner than Dolph and in that way he might make the match line-up more interesting on paper. Of course, he’s a big dude to be scaling a ladder, let alone the entire WWE Headquarters. Ziggler might fit better in the line-up as another super athletic guy wouldn’t hurt.
Of course Raw’s gauntlet match might also give us some help there. And a Money In The Bank ladder match generally means you need big dudes who can catch folks taking those big dives. King Corbin is a nice start but I feel like Otis is probably the best guy for that job given how incredibly wide he is. I can’t really imagine anyone leaping at him and missing, even if they are jumping from 20 feet up.
There’s also the question of how long Otis and Dolph will be feuding for. If this ends up being their last match than Otis would win for sure. But I can’t really imagine this concluding before the Mandy/Otis vs. Sonya/Dolph mixed tag match happens. I suppose with that in mind, Ziggler over tonight probably makes the most sense.
