WWE Monday Night Raw continues. Seth Rollins meets up with Buddy Murphy backstage and says he’s got a revelation that he wants to share with the world. They then go out to the ring together. Seth says that sometimes in life you have to lose who you are to truly find yourself. Says that when he lost to Drew McIntyre at Money In The Bank, part of him believed that he had lost everything. He fell into a dark place, a place so dark he wasn’t sure if he would ever escape. But without darkness, there can be no light. And he has seen the light and he has seen it brighter than ever before. And that is thanks to one man. That is thanks to Rey Mysterio. What happened to Rey has been described by some as ‘heinous’ and ‘disgusting’ and ‘unforgivable’… and it has been described by others as an act of penance. Rey paying for his disbelief in the Monday Night Messiah, but Seth doesn’t see it that way at all.
The way he sees it, what happened to Rey Mysterio was unfortunate but necessary. A sacrifice for the greater good. It was catharsis and clarity that he needed to be the leader that he needs to be. Seth wants to take this moment to speak to Rey directly. Says that he knows Rey is at home with his family right now and healing. And he knows that he can’t see it right now but soon enough he will come to understand that what happened to him was a blessing in disguise.
And he wants to say this now, from the bottom of his heart, so that when they meet face-to-face again it doesn’t have to be said. Rey Mysterio… you’re welcome. Humberto Carrillo’s music hits and he comes out to the stage. “Do you think anyones believes you?” he asks. Says that Rey is his idol. All that Seth is in this world is a coward. Humberto rushes into the ring. Seth has Buddy stand between them and tells Humberto that he appreciates him coming out to respect the honor of his idol, Rey Mysterio, a great human being. (I swear to God in that moment I felt the presence of Stephanie McMahon.) But if he came to fight, he’s clearly not dressed for the occasion. But his disciple Buddy Murphy has a match later on tonight with Aleister Black and he is dressed for the occasion so he will be happy to oblige.
