WWE Monday Night Raw rolls on. Backstage, Shane Thorne and Brendan Vink are preparing for their match when MVP comes up to them and talks to them about the great moment they have coming up. Calls this a match of Austrailia’s toughest vs. Raw’s flyest. They say they know what it’s like to lose to Cedric Alexander & Ricochet and it’s not gonna happen again. After tonight they’ll be able to tell everyone what it’s like to lose to Brendan Vink and Shane Thorne. That is perhaps the single most bog standard promo I’ve seen in days.
Buddy Murphy is interviewed in a different part of backstage later and is asked why he’s remained loyal to Seth Rollins. Buddy says that Seth took him under his wing at a time when he needed help, they both needed each other. Buddy explains that since then, he’s learned and developed. He wants to one day be on the same level as Seth Rollins… or perhaps even beyond him. To that end, he will defeat Drew McIntyre.
Now Vink and Thorne are out there for their match with Cedric and Ricochet.
Cedric Alexander & Ricochet vs. Brendan Vink & Shane Thorne
Cedric and Vink start off, Cedric out-speeding him at first but Vink catches him and biels him toward the heel corner. Thorne tags in and gets him in a chinlock but Cedric quickly escapes and explodes into a dropkick. Tag to Ricochet, Rolling Neckbreaker/Backbreaker combo for a nearfall. Cedric whipped, escapes to the apron, kicks Vink away but Thorne gets him with a charging back elbow to the face! Tag to Vink who throws Cedric into the barricade! Back into the ring, he’s got a Camel Clutch applied. Cedric fights up, Neuralizer nailed, tag to Thorne who dives but fails to catch Cedric and prevent the tag! Ricochet is a house of fire, Springboard Crossbody, Flipkick into an Enziguri to Vink, charging enziguri to Thorne in the corner, takes him up top, Pop-Up Rana!
Tag to Cedric, charging crossbody, dropkick followup from Ricochet, Cedric with the big Tornado DDT! Vink breaks up the pin! Low bridge sends Vink to the outside, Cedric pulling Thorne up. Thorne counters with a clubbering shot, elbow sends him to the heel corner, Vink tags in… Cedric with a Springboard Knee to the gut! That looked odd but also kinda painful. Tries for another Springboard but Vink catches him and sends him to the face corner. Ricochet tags in, ducks Thorne as he charges but Thorne nails Cedric with a HARD Cannonball! Ricochet with a superkick to Thorne, Vink with a Mafia Kick to Ricochet for the victory!
