WWE Analysis: Charlotte Flair Is In Her Longest Title Reign Since 2017

Charlotte Flair is likely to be known as the woman with the most title wins in WWE history. Seemingly keen on tying the 16-time record WWE touts for her legendary father, Charlotte is already an 11 time champion. She has held the NXT, Smackdown, & RAW Women’s Championships, and even got to retire the Divas Championship. Despite this, and having four reigns between 2017 and now, she has already eclipsed all of those with her current run as NXT Women’s Champion.

Charlotte Flair Has Had Mainly Short Title Reigns

While Charlotte is accumulating many reigns, they rarely seem to last. Her first run as NXT Women’s Champion was a great start, coming in at 258 days, and her following reign between the 196 days as Divas Champion and 113 days as WWE Women’s Champion combined up to 309 days, things would start to go downhill. Her next three reigns with the rebranded RAW Women’s Championship would barely even top a third of that reign. She would win the title and drop it, only to win it again shortly after during a feud with Sasha Banks.

Things would improve at first on Smackdown Live, holding the Smackdown Women’s Championship for 147 days before falling victim to a Money In The Bank cash in, but that was her last long reign. Her next four reigns would only reach 45 days, including one where she lost the title immediately to a cash in. to Bayley, who still hold the belt now.

A Chance To Redeem Recent Failures In NXT

While she has had rough luck holding onto championships lately on RAW & Smackdown, she could find another lengthy reign in NXT. She is set to face the Joshi Judas Io Shirai on this coming episode of NXT, a match that Charlotte is projected to win. Charlotte is being positioned as a final boss type threat to this division, much like Asuka & Shayna Baszler ahead of her. Her dominant win over Mia Yim showed this perfectly, and Shirai could suffer the same fate, as will others until Rhea Ripley finds her confidence and takes the fight to The Queen once again.

Do you think Charlotte reaching 16 Championship wins will mean much with how short the majority of them have been? Should she have a very long reign as NXT Women’s Champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
