It’s Monday and that means Raw is on tonight. Complications forced a very, very late preview tonight so let’s get this thing going! Here’s your WWE Monday Night Raw Preview!
WWE Champion Drew McIntyre vs. Buddy Murphy (Non-title)
It’d seemed for a little bit like Seth Rollins had no allies left. His faction of Murphy and AOP seemed to have fizzled out abruptly when an injury put a stop to Akam and Rezar’s appearances, and Murphy didn’t show up in the first few weeks of the pandemic. What’s more, the vaguely teased alliance between Rollins and Zelina Vega’s group have thus far not come to pass and it seems like that may have just been a plan B perhaps. But now Murphy’s back, returning to save Seth from a Drew McIntyre beatdown last week. For his troubles, he got a pretty serious Claymore Kick to the face.
Now, though, he has a one-on-one match with the WWE Champion himself, which is certainly a big opportunity on paper. It could also be a really good match, if they see fit to let the two of them have a competitive bout. I’d love the chance to see that actually. But considering how Murphy was really Seth’s lackey more than an heir apparent and the fact that Drew McIntyre has just run through everyone of late, I don’t particularly like Murphy’s chances of having a big star-making showing tonight. Needless to say, I don’t think he has a shot at winning either. McIntyre over.
WWE Raw Tag Team Champions The Street Profits vs. The Viking Raiders (Non-title)
Viking Raiders have been making their intents clear to go after the Profits, who interestingly actually made it known the Raiders were on their radar ahead of time as Bianca warned them as early as the week after WrestleMania that the Viking Raiders were a major threat to their titles. It’s not a title match tonight but the story is that the Profits lose to them every time they face them, they’re the one team they can’t quite get a win over. I can’t imagine that will change until the gold is on the line. Viking Raiders over.
Last Chance Gauntlet Match To Qualify For Men’s Money In The Bank Ladder Match
Apollo Crews was meant to be part of the Men’s MITB match but a storyline injury last week put a kibosh on that. Now we’re having a gauntlet to find the last participant instead and in true WWE fashion, they haven’t officially announced a single competitor. Due to the nature of these things and the name ‘last chance’ I imagine this will be filled with guys who failed to qualify before, but that’s only three guys. Likely Andrade will also be involved since he was the one Crews was hurt against. Rumor mill seems to suggest AJ Styles might be making his first appearance since the Boneyard match for this and if he does, I have to imagine he’ll be winning. But as this is just so vague, I can’t really make a prediction.
