WWE NXT Results: Akira Tozawa vs. Jack Gallagher

The interium NXT Cruiserweight Championship tournament rages on. Akira Tozawa got a very hot start in this tournament when he knocked off Swerve in the first match of the tournament, allowing him to come into this match with a 1-0 record. Meanwhile, Jack Gallagher is at the bottom of the B-Block, with him losing to El Hijo Del Fantasma in his first match of this tournament. Nothing is clear yet for either of these men, but a loss here would kill any chance of Gallagher reaching the finals.

Frantic Cruiserweight Action From Jack Gallagher & Akira Tozawa

Action would take very little time to get started, as Gallagher dashed in for the the Gentlemans Dropkick early, which Tozawa dodged. Tozawa would hit the ropes and get Gallagher tied up in the Octopus Hold, going for an early submission, which would be reversed out of by Gallagher. This pace would keep up as Gallagher would pick Tozawa out of the sky for a nasty Samoan Drop, but Tozawa would be back on his feet in an instant and attempt the cyclone kick. Despite missing, he would slip between the legs of Gallagher and hit a snap release German Suplex. Tozawa would drag Gallagher to the corner and attempt his diving senton, but his opponent would slip out of the ring. Quickly adapting, Tozawa would attempt a suicide dive, but Gallagher would stop him midway through the ropes with a vicious forearm.

The pace would slow down as Gallagher would focus on some strikes and submissions, grinding down The Stamina Monster. This control wouldn’t last long, as Tozawa would break loose and hit off the ropes and hit a Frankensteiner and attempt another Cyclone Kick. He would miss once again and be caught by Gallagher as he tried to slip through the legs. A choke attempt from Gallagher would be countered as Tozawa rushed the ropes and sent both he and his opponent to the ringside area.

They would go back to the apron and exchange strikes before Gallagher would scoop Tozawa onto his shoulders once again, which would be countered into a DDT onto the apron. Gallagher would once again find himself in position for the diving senton, which would hit its mark perfectly and end this frantic match.

    Tozawa Is On A Roll

With this win, Tozawa now has a perfect 2-0 record, which means Gallagher is all but eliminated from this tournament. Joining Tony Nese in the A-Block, he has an 0-2 record, meaning he can only potentially play spoiler when he faces Swerve in his final match of the tournament in the coming weeks. Tozawa still has El Hijo Del Fantasma to face, but is on a roll for sure. Will Tozawa win the B-Block? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
