Recently we saw Impact Wrestling air a hype promo for their upcoming Slammiversary PPV. This was especially notable, as it teased a large number of released WWE superstars making their way to Impact Wrestling. We would see clips of men like EC3, Gallows & Anderson, Eric Young, Mike Kannelis and a Bulgarian Flag which referenced Rusev. This could be a huge move for Impact, who have been on the up-swing as of late. One man who spent some great years on their roster agrees this is the time to make moves, this being Booker T.
Booker T Knows This Is Time To Act
While on the Hall Of Fame podcast with Brad Gilmore, Booker T would speak on how this is the time for them to move.
“Think about it. You gotta think about it, you gotta think somebody is going to show up. Look man, you gotta think Anthem. Anthem been doing a lot of big major moves, a lot of money moves. I’m sure they’re saying, ‘Hey man, this is the time to get back in the game. There’s guys out there like Rusev right now, we got guys out there like Heath Slater, Erick Rowan, Kassius Ohno. It’s a lot of big guys out there that we can pick up that can put a lot of behinds in the seats.’ And I really think right now is the perfect time for IMPACT to pull the trigger to get back in the game. I’m serious man.”
Add in that wrestling is set to rebound in a huge way, and one or two big moves to catch attention could payoff HUGE for this resilient company.
Impact Wrestling Has Rebuilt Their Reputation
While their history has been rocky to say the least, in recent years Impact Wrestling made strides in rebuilding their trust with fans. Just providing great matches, simple storylines, and building up names like Tessa Blanchard, Moose & Sami Callihan as stars.
While it’s tradition to scoop up ex-WWE stars, many people shown were in Impact Wrestling before. Eric Young & EC3 are former champions, and Gallows was part of Aces & Eights. The biggest name shown in this hype promo with no time in Impact was Rusev. However, no one can get flack for scooping up Rusev with his potential.
