We’ve reached the mid-point in the Abbott Family theme week, and CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers has some throwback spoilers ready to go.
To be honest, this has been one of the more interesting weeks as we’ve gotten the chance to relive some of their best moments while the current storylines are more Newman centric. We know the Abbotts will eventually become more involved instead of a couple of side pieces, and this wets out appetites for when they do. It also helps to remind us how much we miss the Winters family. With a different theme week between the two, it was easy to slide into the new norm.
But CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers haven’t forgotten and wouldn’t mind seeing more of them as well. So, if anyone from the network is reading this, hint, hint. We want some more Winters family, too, please. Thank you.
This episode comes to us all the way from September 10, 2001; the last day before the world changed. In this we’re treated to some Abbott family moments that are touching and not so touching, but it only makes things more entertaining.

Phyllis accepts Jack’s proposal
Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) has had a fun history in Genoa City, but CBS “The Young and he Restless” Spoilers have to admit that her and Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and one of the more interesting couples. It’s just one of those things that catch our curiosity and hooks us for the storyline as it unfolds.
When Jack finally proposed, it caught our attention. Phyllis has a history of being a warm and loving person to those she cares about, and a vile, vengeful monster toward those she cares about and hates. Basically, anyone who crosses her. So, it wasn’t a surprise when she accepted, and it’s a pretty cool moment.
It also ramps up her “what’s going to happen next” genes. Like a ticking time bomb, she only has to wait for the un-safe word to flip the switch and she’s off and running. But Jack’s the type that would try to make her happy, and that would be the one thing that could push her over the edge at some point. She’s the type that can’t stand prosperity, but that doesn’t mean she’d follow through on this.
Besides, as much as we love snarking on the various couplings in our shows, we love seeing a couple in love. They usually set it up and play it out perfectly that it draws us in and pulls at our heartstrings.
What’s your favorite Jack wedding? Let us know in the comics, and check back with CBS “The Young and the Restless” Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation around.
