WWE NXT TakeOver: In Your House continues as we now see Damian Priest go up against Finn Balor!
Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor
Before the bell, Balor with a big John Wu Dropkick! Priest ain’t happy about that. Damian whips him to the corner, Finn evades him, stomps him to the mat! Kicks him to the floor, whips around ringside for a flying forearm! Priest reverses a whip to send him into the steps! Damian pulls him up, just tosses him and lets him fall facefirst on the apron! Priest preps the steps for use. As he steps atop them Finn rushes at him but Priest catches him, Side Slam sends him right onto the apron! Unique. Throws him into the ring and nails him with a haymaker! The crowd is doing a mimicking of Priest’s theme song as he batters Finn. Drives him to the corner, charges, Finn with a boot up, charges in – but Priest plants him with an Elevated Flatliner! Great move.
Forearms to the face! Pulls him to his feet, whips him to the ropes, back elbow. Single arm fishhook. Finn fights his way up, Jawbreaker… but Damian is only stunned for a moment, hits a Bell Clap and takes him to the corner. But Finn with a boot up off a charge, ducks under a punch and hits the ropes for a flying forearm! Charging chop in the corner. Wants to whip him out but Priest blocks it, tries a suplex but Finn counters with one of his own! Baseball Slide sends Priest to the floor! He goes out there and kicks him relentlessly into the barrier! Finn back into the ring, hits the ropes for a tope but Priest slips into the ring and nails him with a lariat!
Pulls him up onto his shoulders for a Razor’s Edge, but Balor escapes behind him, looking for 1916 but Priest counters with a Broken Arrow! But Balor with a double footstomp – they’re both down! Finn with a few forearms, leg kip, Priest with a combination of strikes right back, exchange of forearms, Switch Kick from Priest – Pele Kick from Balor for a clooose nearfall! Finn with a few charging forearms, Priest with a chokeslam counter but Balor rolls through for another super close one! Clotheslines Priest to the outside – but then he leaps right to the apron! Ducks a shot and nails a roundhouse kick! Takes him out to the floor, looking for another Razor’s Edge! And this time he nails it, sending Finn flying right onto the apron! Rolls him into the ring for a nearfall!
Priest has Balor set up in the corner, charges for a big flying back elbow, and then a second one! Looking for a third but Finn counters with a Slingblade! Sets him up for the Shotgun Dropkick but Priest with a series of 360 Roundhouse Kicks to stop that! But then Balor with a Reverse DDT out of nowhere! Shotgun Dropkick slams him against the buckles and drops him to the mat, Balor up top! But Priest is up and grabs him by the throat! He ascends… Avalanche Chokeslam!! Cover for a narrow nearfall! They’re both struggling to their feet. Damian is up first and he’s suggesting the ref stop the match for Finn’s sake? He pulls Balor to the apron as we see the steps again… Balor fighting back! But Damian wins out, hoists him up for another Razor’s Edge!!! But Balor escapes inside the ring, CHARGING FOREARM SENDS PRIEST RIGHT ATOP THE STEPS!! That was a painful looking landing, small of the back hit the edge! Loud impact too, damn that had to hurt. Priest struggles back into the ring – Finn catches him with a double footstomp to the back of the neck! Goes up top – Coup de Gras for the victory!
Winner: Finn Balor
Heck of a match for certain and evidently Finn just set a record for wins at TakeOver events with that one. Pretty cool.
