For the last couple of weeks, many have questioned whether Chris Bey has been using Johnny Swinger for it own gain, and it appears that is the case after they defeated Willie Mack (X Division Champion) and the Deaners.
But getting here wasn’t fun and games
Johnny Swinger may never be considered a legitimate recruiter given his first choice as a partner was Willie Mack’s best friend, Rich Swann who happens to also be injured.
Of course, he was turned down so he tried to convince Suicide to join them, but when Swinger turned back Suicide had disappeared.

His next choice was SuperMex, but Hernandex would only join them is Swinger could beat him in an arm wrestling match. Let’s just say, it’s a miracle Swinger still has an arm.
Eventually, Swinger met Bey backstage right before their match and called out his “first pick.” It was non other than Rohit Raju, who Bey does not like. Riju returned the sentiment, but he needed the rental car Swingr promised him as payment. Wonder whose car the “rental” really is? Swingers or Bey’s?
Anyway, as they headed for the ring, Swinger asked Riju, “You two have heat with each other? Why didn’t you tell me?”
The match
All things considered, this was a really good match, and Riju continued his push to be taken seriously as he was instrumental in the victory. Bey continued to play mind games with Willie Mack by tagging himself out after demanding Mack face him, and concluding the night by pinned Mack after hitting him with his springboard Famasser.
Most importantly for Chris Bey, since he pinned the X Division Champion, he most likely punched his ticket to face Willie Mack for the title at Slammiversay on July 19.
The Swing Man came through for Bey, but there are three weeks to go, so it should be interesting to se what’ll happen between now and then as Bey and Swinger continue to try and coexist as this rivalry continues to heat up. We’re willing to bet the Deaners (Cody and Jake) aren’t happy, and will be back with Willie Mack to even the score. Maybe we’ll even get to see the Deaner’s compound again. It kinda feels like we’re heading that way again.
Just imagining Johnny Swinger on the compound is enough for us to want to see this. Plus, it’s great to see a legend like Swinger still holding his own with the young bucks scampering around.
