One of the best parts of wrestling is factions. From the classics like The Four Horseman, Degeneration X, & nWo to modern examples like Bullet Club, The Inner Circle and Los Ingornables De Japon. They simply make wrestling better and more believable. Groups of friends fighting for a common purpose, elevating each other. For a while, wrestling lost this but it has been coming back across the board. The only major company without a faction right now is Impact Wrestling, but that could change with a name from the past coming back. Scott D’Amore found an old jersey while doing some spring cleaning, that of Team Canada. Is it time for this faction to come back?
Team Canada Could Be Coming Back
Back in the days of TNA, Team Canada members like Bobby Roode, Eric Young, and Petey Williams under the guidance of Scott D’Amore were a dominant yet entertaining faction. With TNA nostalgia at an all time high, with Moose as the self proclaimed TNA Champion, why not bring back this classic faction.
On the latest episode of Impact Wrestling, Michael Elgin would receive a phone call from an unknown source. It seemed pretty innocent, until one key line. “You know us Canadians, we’ve always been team players.” This would be followed by July 18th popping up on the screen, the date of Slammiversary, which promises some returning stars, with one of them being Eric Young.
Who Would Be In This Returning Faction?
You have three potential original members returning right out of the gate, these being Scott D’Amore, ‘The Canadian Destroyer’ Petey Williams, and Eric Young. That alone would be a great throwback, but you need some modern touches in wrestling these days. This is where names like Elgin come into play, one of the best Canadian exports in wrestling today who seems to be in contact with someone, likely Young.
Rounding out this faction could be the Impact Tag Team Champions, The North. Ethan Page & Josh Alexander have been fantastic as of late, being arguably the best to ever hold the championships. Giving them more support with Team Canada behind them? They’d be near unstoppable.
Team Canada could very well be back on July 18th. What other Canadian wrestlers would you want to see in this returning faction? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
