As we reported earlier, WWE star Matt Riddle was accused of sexually assaulting Candy Cartwright while they were traveling with other wrestlers. Since then, some news has come out that’s put a new light on things and has some wondering if her claim is legitimate.
Update
She shared an image of Riddle’s message to her saying he couldn’t wait to see her, and another Cartwright claims that Riddle’s wife knew of their affair.

Matt Riddle responded through a DM that was shared, and his wife with her own tweet:

The flurry comes after Cartwright posted this update after originally deleting it to crop out the “remove Ad’s part and reposting it. This has led to many suggesting she used a messaging app to fake the message, and then wanted to remove the incriminating “Remove Ads” portion.
While the “Remove Ads” could be explained away by her using a cheap messaging app, she posted another image then deleted it (a fan screencaped it and reposted) that shows an exchange between them.
Matt Riddle and WWE respond
The WWE previously responded by saying:
We take any allegation of this nature very seriously and are looking into the matter.
A screencap of Riddle’s conversation where he defended himself was also screencaped and shared on social media.
Accordiing to Riddle, he will continue to appear while these accusations are being investigated. While this could come back to hurt the WWE, it shows their faith in him or in their being able to make things go away.
With some of the scandals that have plagued the WWE in recent years, like McMahon allegedly paying off officials in the Jimmy Snuka case in 1983, there’s plenty of room for skeptics on both sides to find something to pull and unravel either story.
The public court of opinion is split like always in this case, with fans on both sides and those trying to make sense of things in the middle.
There are as many twists and turns in this as with any wrestling storyline, and we hope that justice is done and the truth comes out no matter what it is.
