Adam Cole might be done with The Velveteen Dream, but with how competitive NXT is, there’s always people waiting for their shot at the champion. This past episode of NXT showed two men step up to the plate and call out Adam Cole in their own ways, with both Keith Lee & Karrion Kross staking their claim at a shot. Who will be next for Adam Cole?
Keith Lee Has Eyes On Being The First Double Champion In NXT History
Not content with just being the NXT North American Champion, Keith Lee now looks to the waist of Adam Cole for his next target. While making his way to the ring to face Johnny Gargano & Candice LeRae, Lee came across the Undisputed Era, and was fixated on the NXT Championship. Everyone had better things to do however, and they’d simply move along, but the seeds were planted. Lee would be called out by Finn Balor on this night as well, with Balor saying he’s never had the North American Championship.
Double champions are becoming common in wrestling lately, with Bayley Dos Straps, Becky Two Belts, and Tetsuya Naito holding the IWGP Heavyweight & Intercontinental Championships at the same time. Could Keith Lee be the next in line to do just this?
The Clock Is Ticking For Karrion Kross To Get His Shot
After Cole would defeat Dexter Lumis in the main event of NXT, the lights would dim and Scarlett would make her way down to the ring. In her hands was an hourglass, which she placed in the ring and flipped. Karrion Kross will be looking for his shot soon, especially after routing Tommaso Ciampa in mere minutes at Takeover, something it took Cole three times as long to do, and with help from outside forces.
Kross is perhaps the most deadly force NXT has ever seen, and everyone knew that Cole would be on his radar. The top prize won’t allude Kross forever, and the clock is now ticking. Not even Kyle O’Reilly coming back to make it 4 on 1 will make this an easy fight for Cole however.
These could be the two biggest challenges Adam Cole will face as NXT Champion, and either could end his reign. Who do you think will be next in line for a shot at the NXT Championship? Which man deserves this chance more? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
